This policy describes how the Shadow Pals iPhone app handles information and permissions. Shadow Pals is built to teach hand shadow figures with on-device guidance, so the core lesson flow is designed to stay simple and privacy-conscious.

What Shadow Pals uses on your device

Camera access

Shadow Pals uses the iPhone camera to detect your hand position in real time so it can guide you into the correct shadow figure pose. The core guided practice flow is designed so camera video does not need to be uploaded just to provide hand-tracking feedback.

Photo library access

If you choose to save a capture, Shadow Pals may request access to your photo library so the image can be written to your camera roll. That permission is optional and only needed for saving captures.

Motion sensors

Shadow Pals may use motion data to help determine which hand is holding the phone so the lesson can adapt to your free hand more naturally.

What Shadow Pals does not require for the core lesson flow

  • No account is required to start practicing.
  • The main guided practice experience is designed to work without an internet connection after the app is installed.
  • Shadow Pals is designed so the core pose-coaching flow does not depend on uploading your live camera feed.

Subscriptions and purchases

Shadow Pals offers optional in-app purchases such as Shadow Pals Pro. Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. To keep premium access in sync, Apple and our subscription infrastructure may provide transaction or entitlement status needed to confirm your purchase.

Children and family use

Shadow Pals is family-friendly, but younger children should use the app with adult help when a flashlight, lamp, or dim room setup is involved. The app is not designed around in-app social features or child accounts.

Shadow Pals may link out to the companion site at shadowpals.com and other external resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices.
